๐ The Prime Minister's Handbook
So you won. Here's everything your office can do โ use it well, the next election is on the 1st.
๐ธ Set taxes
/hideoutia tax show
/hideoutia tax set <income|sales|land-sale|land-lease> <percent>
Four levers, each its own rate. Every taxed transaction feeds the treasury. Raise them and fund great works; cut them and run on prosperity โ the ledger remembers either way.
๐ฆ Spend the treasury
/hideoutia gov balanceโ what you have to work with/hideoutia gov pay <player> <amount>โ spend it: public works, bounties, rewards, your party faithful.../hideoutia gov ledger [page]โ everything is public. Every payment you make is visible to every player. Govern accordingly.- The treasury can go negative โ deficits are legal, but they're also campaign material for your opponents.
- Welfare checks and new-player start checks come out of your treasury automatically.
๐ Govern the land
Most claims never reach you: small wilderness plots auto-approve at a fixed per-block price. Only the big or sensitive ones โ over the size limit, or overlapping a protected region โ land in your queue for you to price and grant:
/hideoutia plot requestsโ the queue (only the requests that needed review)/hideoutia plot tp <id>โ teleport to a request and see its particle outline/hideoutia plot approve <id> <price>โ grant it at your price (sale proceeds โ treasury); you're teleported back to where you were/hideoutia plot reject <id>โ refuse it (requester gets a letter)/hideoutia plot returnโ teleport back manually/hideoutia plot reclaimโ return the plot you're standing in to state ownership (blocked while sub-plot tenants live there)
State housing: stand in a government plot and /hideoutia plot lease <low-rent> [days] โ cheap public housing, rent straight to the treasury, and nobody can buy it out from under the tenants. Selling state land requires you to explicitly list it (and evict first if occupied).
๐ Hire the public โ government contracts
Post paid work and let players bid for it with their labour:
/hideoutia contract post <amount> <title> | <description>
/hideoutia contract payout <id>
/hideoutia contract retender <id>
/hideoutia contract cancel <id>
- Post sets the budget aside immediately โ it's debited from the treasury the moment you post (escrow), and announced to everyone online. No phantom promises: the money is committed up front. Add an optional brief after a
|(post 500 Build a road | Cobble both lanes, lit every 10 blocks); it shows in/hideoutia contract info. - A player accepts it (
/hideoutia contract accept <id>) and the job is theirs. You can't accept your own contract. - When the work's done, payout pays the contractor the full budget. The treasury already paid at post, so payout moves no extra money โ the books balance.
- Changed your mind about who's doing it? retender kicks the contractor off and reopens it (no money moves). Changed your mind about the whole thing? cancel ends it and refunds the budget back to the treasury (the contractor, if any, gets nothing but a letter).
Everything's public via /hideoutia contract list and /hideoutia contract info <id>. Like welfare, contract payouts aren't taxed and the treasury may go negative.
๐ฃ Speak to the nation
/hideoutia mail gov all <subject> | <body>
Every player gets your letter, stamped as official government mail.
โก The nuclear option
/hideoutia election snap โ dissolve the government and trigger an immediate PM election. The winner takes power the moment voting closes. Call it when you're strong... and remember the public can do the same to you: if 10% of all players ever seen demand it (/hideoutia election demand), a snap election fires whether you like it or not.
What you can't do
- Set negative prices or taxes outside 0โ100%
- Sell land out from under a sitting tenant
- Hide your spending โ the ledger is public
- Stop the monthly election. It comes on the 1st, every month, no matter what.
Good luck, Prime Minister. ๐ซก
